Corynebacterium diphtheriae(디프테리아균)은 gram positive rod로 디프테리아를 일으키는 세균이다.

특징

• gram + rod, V or L shape으로 배열

Pathogenesis

• Exotoxin encoded by beta-prophage: EF-2 억제를 통한 단백질 합성 억제
  • A component: activation
  • B component: binds host membrane
