분류
- Group 1: carcinogenic to humans.
- 알코올(술), 그을음, 흡연, 햇빛(자외선, UV), 매연이나 톱밥의 분진, 벤젠, 벤조피렌, 아플라톡신, 니코틴, 니트로사민, 석면, acetaldehyde, 크롬, 비소, 카드뮴, 니켈, 석탄, 콜타르, ethylene oxide, 포름알테히드, 헬리코박터 파이로리균, 간염바이러스, HIV, 전리방사선, 방사선핵종, 방사성 요오드 등
- Category 2A: probably carcinogenic to humans.(사람에 대해서는 limited evidence지만 동물실험에서는 sufficient evidence)
- This designation is applied when there is limited evidence of carcinogenicity in humans as well as sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity in experimental animals
- 간디스토마(간흡층), 아크릴아마이드, nitrogen mustard(머스터드 질소), 항암제 시스플라틴(cisplatin), 방향족탄화수소(폴리염화 바이페닐) 등
- Category 2B: possibly carcinogenic to humans.(사람에게 증거가 제한적이고 동물실험에서도 충분치 않다.)
- there is limited evidence of carcinogenicity in humans and less than sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity in experimental animals
- 경유, 휘발유, 에틸카바메이트, 캐러멜색소, 납, 코발트, 카본블랙, DDT(농약), 페놀프탈레인, 사염화탄소, 이산화티타늄, 휴대폰의 전자기장 등
- Category 3: not classifiable as to carcinogenicity in humans.
- the evidence of carcinogenicity is inadequate in humans and inadequate or limited in experimental animals
- 멜라민, 카페인 등
- Category 4: probably not carcinogenic to humans.
