Transduction

Transduction은 bacterial gene transfer 기전 중 하나로 bacteriophage에 의해 DNA가 옮겨지는 방식이다.

분류

바이러스의 복제 기전에 따라 두 가지로 분류

• Generalized transduction: virulant virus(lytic phage)에 의해 일어나는 오류에 기인
• Specialized transduction: temperate virus(lysogenic phage)에서 일어나는 오류에 기인

Generalized transduction

• Packaging error
  • 세균 염색체 DNA가 phage capsid를 패키징하는 과정에서 잚 못 들어가게되고 이 박테리오파지가 다른 세균을 감염시키면서 유전자를 전달

Specialized transduction

• Excision error
  • 세균 염색체에 포함되어 있던 박테리오파지의 DNA가 excision 되는 과정에서 세균의 염색체 DNA가 포함되어 전달됨
