Amyloid angiopathy

Amyloid angiopathy(Cerebral amyloid angiopathy,CAA)는 amyloid가 뇌혈관의 small- to medium-sized blood vessel에 침착되어 생기는 질환으로 고령에서 intracerebral hemorrhage의 원인이 됨.

• multifocal microbleeds(or ICH) in corticosubcortical junction
  • sparing BG, pons(hypertensive ICH와 다른점)
• convexity SAH
• cortical superficial siderosis

DDx

• Trauma
  • diffuse axonal injury: trauma Hx, grey-white matter junction, corpus callosum± brainstem
  • cortical contusions
• 다른 Microangiopathy
  • hypertensive microhemorrhages(BG, pons, cerebellum)
  • multiple cavernoma syndrome
  • hemorrhagic metastases: melanoma 등
  • neurocysticercosis
  • fat embolism: starfield pattern, diffusion restriction
  • RTx induced vasculopathy

• Amyloidosis: systemic amyloidosis와는 무관함.
