크립토스포리디움(Cryptosporidium)은 특히 면역저하환자에서 심각한 설사를 일으키는 protozoa이다.
특징
- 물 속의 oocysts에 의해 전파
- Watery diarrhea
- AIDS 환자에서 심한 설사
- Isospora belli(elliptical shape)와 감별
진단
- Acid-fast stain 상에서 Oocysts
치료
- 항원충제: nitazoxanide for immunocompetent hosts
- 대증 치료
